What type of makeup do you use?

We use a variety of makeup brands from reputable, socially responsible companies. A few favorites are: Made-up My Grind cosmetics, Haus Labs, Nars, MAC, Juvia’s Place, Morphe, Sephora Beauty...

Do lashes come with the service?

Yes, lashes are provided with all services unless specified by the client. The artist will use her discretion and choose the best option based on what she has available. Feel free to bring your favorite with you if you'd like!

How long do the lashes last?

We use lash adhesive (NEVER hair glue). We recommend taking the lashes off before bed by simply pulling them gently from inner to outer corner. Clients have worn them for days although this is beyond our recommendation.

Do you provide lipstick to go?

We provide the longest-wearing lipstick possible. To-go swatches are available for $5.  Made-up My grind lipsticks are also available at retail price.

How can I be sure that the color will match my skin?

We have a wide array of foundation shades and powders to match all skin tones. You can also view the photos in our gallery to view the clientele we have serviced that has a similar tone to yours. If you're still unsure, you may request a consultation with our artist!

How do I book an appointment?

All appointments must be booked online. We ask that you please check the website for availability before calling or texting, as we keep the schedule up to date at all times. Any calls, texts or social media messages requesting appointments will be redirected to the website unless the request is for a time outside of normal business hours. 

Can I book an appointment outside of the posted hours?

Yes! Please request the appointment time you'd like via a call or text and you will be provided instructions on how to book.  Please note that there is an additional charge for booking outside of business hours.

Will you come to my home/location for a non-bridal service?

We sure can if the schedule permits!  For just one client It will be double the cost of the service (plus travel fee). We recommend at least 2 or more people.  The travel fee will be waived for a group of 4 or more (if local-Non-bridal service only).  Home appointments can only be scheduled by phone/text.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash is our preference.  We also take Apple Pay, Cash App, Venmo, Google Pay or PayPal (PP will include a $5 service charge). NO CHECKS. Cash tips are appreciated.

Do I have to put down a deposit?

Deposits are required for wedding parties of 4 or more (25%)

How long will the makeup last?

We guarantee it will last for at least 12-16 hours. We always recommend washing your face before bed. Clients have worn makeup for 1-2 days but we are not responsible for any allergic reactions or breakouts beyond the recommended time.

Can I use my own makeup?

Sure you can! If the artist does not feel that the products provided are the best match, we will consult the client and show them our options.  This choice does not affect the price, sorry.

How do I wash it off?

We recommend using a makeup cleaning balm first, then washing your face with your favorite facial soap and warm water. 

Do you offer discounts?

We run specials periodically.  Be sure to check the website! 

Do you answer Instagram/Facebook direct messages?

We try our best, but that method is not recommended.  All of our information is available here on our website. A response via social media is not guaranteed as there is an overflow of messages. The fastest and most efficient way to connect is through the website or via email at madeupmygrind@gmail.com.

Do you travel out of state (country) for weddings?

Yes we do, but we charge for the following:

Travel expenses to airports and/or airport parking; Uber/Lyft fees
Flights (going and returning); Accommodation while at the destination of the wedding; and
Travel expenses while at the destination.

 Is a Wedding Consultation necessary?

A trial is recommended to ensure that your chosen makeup look suits you and that you are happy with it. These are recommended between 2 and 3 months before the wedding. You’ll have some photos taken during these trials to ensure the look is just right for you and notes will be taken about any products used and your feedback on the trial look, so it can be repeated on your wedding day. This “trial” is preferred because you won’t need to worry that your makeup might not suit you. It’s also wise because in the rare event that you have a reaction to a product, we’ll be able to try alternatives to be sure that the ones used on the day-of agree with your skin. Please allow approximately 1.5 hours for the makeup consult.

How long does bridal makeup take?

This will take around one hour and fifteen minutes for the bride and around 40 to 50 minutes for members of the bridal party.
